File and Sharing Problem ...

When I turn on or reboot my Laptop, for some reason Vista file and print sharing is turned off and my other computers cannot access/see my laptop. In Network and Sharing Center it reports that file sharing is turned on. I have to go to Network Connections then Wireless Network Connections and chose properties and then reselect "File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks." Only then will my other computers recognize/see my laptop. I have to do this each and every time I turn on my laptop or reboot. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ken

If you use access connections you have the option to turn on or off windows file and printer sharing each time you apply a profile which will happen automatically after each reboot. Open access connections, click manage, select the profile you use and click edit, select additional settings, select the "Network Security" checkbox (unless it's already checked) and then click on the settings button to the right of "Network Security". Make sure the option "Disable file and printer sharing" is not selected. You have to repeat this for each profile where you want the file and printer sharing to be enabled in case you have more then one profile.

Thanks ...

Thanks, that fixed my problem! I never thought about Access Connections being the problem.
