Power supply compatibility? (T60 v T61p)

Hi,

I have a power supply from a T60, as well as the one which came with my T61p. The former is 20V / 65W, the latter is 20V / 90W. My question is as to whether there's any reason I shouldn't use the T60 power supply for my T61p, since it's smaller and lighter? i.e. are there any adverse effects in doing so?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes the 65 watt version will be unable to supply all the power the T61p will need. So depending on just how you choose to use it it may not be able to fully charge the battery. (Perhaps it could over night while the computer is off) During the day I believe you would be using the battery to run the computer as well as the adapter.

Sir, there is a thread regarding the exact same topic on the very same 1st page of T6x forum.

So there is - that'll teach me to look more carefully at the first couple of pages, rather than going straight to the search field, which didn't pull that thread up! Thanks, and apologies for not spotting it.
