14.1" SXGA+ IPS ????

#1 Post by wearetheborg » Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:19 pm

My last thread vanished into thin air, here goes again...

I thought that IPS meant 15" screens. But take a look at
http://www5.pc.ibm.com/us/products.nsf/ ... p/_2623D8U
Screen type description: SXGA+IPS TFT
Viewable image size (diagonal): 14.1inches
What gives ??
HP NC8000 UXGA; Dell Precision M90 WUXGA; R50P UXGA

Neither.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

It's 14.1", but not IPS.

same with my laptop too, i mentioned it a while back after checking. I do notice tho it has wide viewing angles but definitely not IPS since the vertical is nothing in comparison to what i've seen from a real 15" IPS.

That's mine .... says the samething but it's definitely not IPS but it is a nice LCD tho.
