rescue and recovery factory default error please help

SO i did a complete factory restore...while its copying, it said x:\i386\fonts\smalleg.fon could not be copied, error 999 And that error just hault the factory default...any help please, im sick of vista and need xp back

What are you doing a factory restore from, the recovery partition or a set of recovery CD's? If CD's, it sounds like the CD with the file x:\i386\fonts\smalleg.fon is bad.

the cds were from lenovo, they sent it to me. Does it have anything to do with my rescue and recovery because it is version 3.0?
