t61p hotkeys dont work?!

Some times (after I bring the notebook back from standby) ,
I cant change the brightness of the display with the hot keys anymore, or if I muted the audio I cant unmute it.

The on screen overlay tells me that I am changing the screen brightness or the volume but nothing changes!

I have to reboot the machine and then it usually works again!

This is very annoying!! Does anyone have an Idea what that could be?? I'm running Windows XP on a t61p 14" with fingerprint.

i have the same problem under server 2003 standard.   it's probably the driver so my next step is to try previous versions of the driver and see if that helps.

it works as advertised under my installation of vista ultimate x64.
