T60p screen upgrade to WUXGA

I will soon be receiving the following ThinkPad :15.4" T60p 8741-C3U. The only issue I have with the configuration is the WSXGA+ screen. I have a Z60m with the same screen and while I have never had any issues with that screen I have become spoiled by the UXGA of my 43p. While I know I will not get flexview in a WUXGA panel the extra screen real estate would be nice.

Has anyone done this switch with a T60p and what WUXGA panel is recommended? From a quality standpoint is the swap even worth the cost/hassle. I would not like to sacrifice screen quality for higher resolution. I see a lot of WUXGA panels on eBay for the Dell platforms but I don't know if they are T60p compatible. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

be patient for a response.   there's a good chance that no one has done this modification yet because the 15.4" models are so new.   you're probably on your own.

my only suggestion is to download the 15.4" T61/T61p and T60/T60p widescreen hardware maintenance manuals, compare hinges/inverters/cables/bezels/covers and order whatever parts are different and/or necessary.   i make no guarantees that this will work but from past experience with other thinkpads these are the steps to take.

good luck.
