Max. external resolution supported by Intel GMA 950 in T60 ?

Good day. I have a T60 with only a Intel GMA950, there's only a VGA port instead of DVI output port. And my current maximum resolution on my LCD is 1024x758 only.

I'm wondering what is the maximum resolution this configuration can drive with the VGA port or VGA to DVI cable? Thanks very much for the answer in advance :)

All T60s come with VGA only, not just the ones with integrated graphics.

The maximum resolution for an external display should be 2048x1536, if I'm not completely wrong.

Thanks Cclyde.

I'm absolutely a noob on T60. please pardon my mistakes.

Then suppose I could plug a 19" LCD :) with vga port ;)

Will try it out this saturday instead :p

VGA to DVI cable does not work on the T60 ... you need to get a docking station (or an 'active' converter, like the one Matrox used to make) to get a DVI output. This is true for models with integrated or discrete graphics.

thanks for the info, gator ;). Then i will take my chances on LCD display with VGA input port, IF i could find one . Hopefully the vga port could support 2048x1536 as stated by Ccylde. (wondering hard to find or not ... )

edit:just found a 19" LCD in my office with VGA input port... but resolution unclear ...

Most LCDs above 1920x1200 require dual-link DVI.

Don't forget that just because it "can" output at that resolution doesn't mean it'll look good or work on such high-resolution monitors (like mdtaylor69 already mentioned) - especially with VGA.

You can, in theory, drive a Lada over a bumpy dirt road at 100mph, but that's not quite the same experience as a BMW on the German autobahn. ;)

I'm running 1680x1050 on LG Flattron 22inch widescreen with my T60. Works excellent.
