Wireless issues with T60

#1 Post by old sparky » Wed Sep 12, 2007 1:05 am

I too have had erratic behavior with my T60 and wireless connections. Sometimes, on boot up in the vicinity of known active networks, both ThinkVantage access connections and the Windows wireless connections detect no networks! All indicators, LED and software, show that the radio is turned on. I have tried toggling the radio on and off with the manual switch and with the soft controls to no avail. I have trouble shot using the software tools. The only thing that seems to work is rebooting the T60. Then, viola! connection is made normally.

This occurs randomly and most often when on battery power. Power management settings are OK and have not changed. I found months ago in "edit profiles" in ThinkVantage access connections that unchecking the box "disable this wireless radio when switching locations" helps. This needs to be unchecked in all profiles. But I still have the random failure problem where the radio has no ears........ :?

Thoughts, anyone??

Have you upgraded Access Connections or your wireless driver recently?

I had a similar problem once, AC would simply not detect ANY networks at all sometimes. Downgrading AC to the previous version fixed it instantaneously.
