T61p and repartitioning hdd/reinstalling XP.

#1 Post by CeNG » Wed Sep 12, 2007 1:06 pm

I just received my T61P last night and I'd like to blow away the main C: partition and rebuild it as C: and D:. I've created the requisite Recovery cds which I've read should contain my OS and various other Thinkpad tidbits but I don't see anywhere in the recovery console to actually partition for the reinstall. Am I missing something there or are people blowing away and repartitioning with other software and then running the Recovery?

You need to repartition after running the recovery program. The recovery program will blow away any partition you create in the recovery process. Sorry.
