Just got a couple of questions about my T60p
What is the core clock speed of the v5200 ( my CCC says 128mhz)?
What is the Memory clock speed? (again mine says 135 mhz)
iam just trying to make sure these numbers r right any information would be help ful thx.

i also read on here that someone put a piece of copper on the gpu to keep it cool if any one knows what size should it be or where could i get one?

i already used arctic silver on my cpu and its running 3C lower on idle after 20 hours of use.

Interesting...

I have a T60p/v5200 as well.

CCC reports core clock at 587 MHz
and memory clock speed at 693 MHz

thx for your post RonS :D
i installed new drivers form ati website and not the lenovo ones and it reads

core 398Mhz
Memory 325Mhz

i guess i still have a ways to go to get your scores but iam guessing drivers r the problem

BIG LOL

just switch off Powerplay and you have full clock speeds!!!
btw Memory is the clock of the Grafics Memory....

cu :)

i did turn off powerplay but my clocks were still that low until i got new drivers but thanks for your input

btw y r my clocks still slower than RonS if we have the same card?

There are 3 frequencies level :

- Battery life (128/130 MHz) : 1390
- Balanced (324/130 MHz) : 1477
- Performances (400/320 MHz) : 3570

PS : mode (core/mem) : 3D Mark 2005

I replace the thermal pad by a copper plate (see topic about fan/heat T60). With no fan, the GPU idles at 66°C with power play set to battery life and at 70°C with GPU at performances.

I'am using the laptop for 4 hours with no fan running :

1 CPU 55°C (0x78)
2 APS 41°C (0x79)
3 PCM 42°C (0x7a)
4 GPU 66°C (0x7b)
5 BAT 50°C (0x7c)
7 BAT 34°C (0x7e)
9 BUS 43°C (0xc0)
10 PCI 49°C (0xc1)
11 PWR 50°C (0xc2)

While gaming, the GPU never hits 85°C. With fan at 3400 rpm, GPU max temp (during Oblivion) is about 83°C. With out the mod, GPU goes up until 95°C with the fan running at 3700 rpm.

PS : I use Thinkpad fancontrol to handle the fan speed.

Pascal_TTH your numbers are the same as mine :D
but RonS numbers are really high does he OC?

And about the copper piece what size is it or where did u get it because when i DOD:S my GPU Temp goes to 98 C i could really use that mod u did to cool it a little

Hi silver2002,

You can read here about my mod : http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... &start=150

The height is just the same as the masterpiece of the fan assembly.

RonS perhaps OC his GPU. Mine runs at stock freq.

Sorry guys... I made a mistake

I took the numbers (above) from the V5200 card in the dock, rather than the internal V5200. Here are all of the numbers:

ATI MOBILITY FireGL V5200
Core Clock 398 MHz
Memory Clock 324 MHz

ATI FireGL V5200 (this is the card in the dock)
Core clock 587 MHz
Memory clock 693 MHz
