T60p will not come out of sleep/suspend

Hmmm I don't as a rule suspend my T60p a lot, however after the last BIOS update 79ETD7WW (2.17) I tried to suspend it. My T60p will go to sleep, the little moon icon lights up. But it will not wake up! When I first press the power button the hard disk light comes on briefly and that is it. Nothing further happens

( Over the weekend I tried re-imaging a spare hard drive installed in the slectbay slot, and even with a fresh factory install, it will not wake up.
Any thoughts?

I always wake up my Thinkpads from Standby by pressing the Fn key for about 2 seconds. It always works. Have you tried that?

Thanks for the feedback, but it is not helping. Nothing I've try seems to make a difference, I get a few seconds of disk activity and then nothing at all. The little moon icon never turns off...

Yes it worked before when I originally got my T60p, It's not a feature that I use a lot, it may have been up to 6 months since I last used it, it no longer works, and it did not work after running the recovery CDs ~ that strongly suggest it has something to do with the BIOS to me. I do not believe it's possible to shut the sleep mode off in the BIOS, and I've never gotten a failed BIOS. Rolling the BIOS back to the previous version did not appear to help either....
I wonder how far back I can roll the BIOS to???

Well this has worked for me.....
I charged up a battery, and rolled back the BIOS to
79uj11us Rebooted, (note to get into the BIOS you'll need to press F1 multiple times and it will say it is entering the BIOS and fail

Just keep pressing F1 and going through the cycle eventually you'll get in. Then I loaded
79uj08us.exe and rebooted again entering the BIOS and loading the default settings. I then entered Vista with all USB connections removed and went into sleep. I could awaken from sleep, so I restored my USB connections one at a time and tested the sleep capability. I could awaken now. I then reloaded the
79uj24us.exe BIOS and now my computer once again enters sleep, and will awaken. My idea in using these version was to reprogram the Embedded Controller. For me this works.
Considering that reloading the factory image from a set of Lenovo created restore disk did not enable my T60p to awaken from sleep mode and just reloading the previous BIOS did not do it either, strongly suggest to me the problem is with the Embedded Controller. And not with the
OS or a driver loaded.
