My experience for BSOD - NMI Parity Check Error

#1 Post by arthurcorell » Wed Sep 19, 2007 1:29 pm

I have a T60 8743. I had blue screen - NMI Parity Check Error too.

I run PC Doctor and MemTest86 on it and nothing wrong.

And I found out:
1. I use Advanced Dock in my office: Never see BSOD
2. Sometimes I use Mini Dock at home: Never see BSOD.
3. Sometimes I use AC power: Never see BSOD

I realize that the BSOD only happened when I'm using battery and only happened after the laptop resume from sleep mode.
When the BSOD happened, I never had any heavy load on it.
I believe there is something to do with ACPI control. Also it could have something to with one of the memory slot.
I talk to Lenovo Rep. Told them what I did. They decide send tech to replace the motherboard (with another 1GB memory which I didn't use). After the replacement, the BSOD disappeared! I didn't make any changes on Windows Vista. I'm still using the 2x2GB memory I got.

I had been search on the internet for the solution but didn't see anything. I don't recommend send you laptop to the depot. I don't think they will replace the system board at depot (I sent one of our laptop to the depot before; they didn’t do anything they said). If you have on-site service, they will send the board with their tech.

Hope this help all of you had same BSOD.
Please post your result.
