Hibernate in docking station

#1 Post by AlexBell » Sat Sep 22, 2007 1:14 am

My thinkpad T60 running Windows XP spends most of its life in a docking station with an external monitor on mains power. Even though I think I've disabled hibernation it still shuts itself off after a period, which means that I can't upgrade after hours.

Is there a way of stopping it from hibernating unless I want it too?
Regards, Alex

Yes, I've configured mine through Power Manager never to hibernate, and it never does (also a T60 in the Dock). If you've done that, check your BIOS, I think there are power settings in there too, that might be over-riding settings in Windows.

Thanks. I thought I'd used Power Manager, so I guess I'd better check.

I think the problem is, you need to set up hardware profiles - one for docked, and one for undocked. Set you hibernation scheme in each profile.
