ThinkPad T61 "DOA" and weird problems...

Well with all the crazy things going on with the T6X's I figured I post something that happened to "mine"...
After battling for over a year (in another post) I managed to get the "ThinkPad" line into work. Well a week or so ago, as I am walking into work my Boss stopped me and asked me for a "report"; so I sit on my desk while he is looking over my shoulder, dock the laptop and press the power button...NOTHING!
My Boss made a comment (did not hear what he said). Press power again...NOTHING...looked at the power indicator...NOTHING...NOW I AM GETTING WORRIED!!
Reseated the power on dock...no lights, reseated the laptop on the dock...no lights!!! WT*?
So I removed the laptop from the dock and plugged it in directly to the AC adapter...still NOTHING!!
By this time, my Boss is making "jokes" about my decision...he was laughing so I guess it was a "good thing"...
While he looked over my shoulder I removed battery, HDD, DVDRW and memory. Help power button for about 30 seconds. Re-installed all hardware and docked machine (power light came on...pressed power button...CAME RIGHT UP!! It was a GOOD DAY...
I know the "older" ThinkPads had the "red reset" button on the back; but I have never had this problem with a ThinkPad (that I can remember) a LOT of these problems with Sony...but never a Thinkpad!!! Battery on the T61 was 100% and everything came up normal...so not sure what is going on!!
Recently I started getting some errors when the OS loads and when I shut down; but they are "random"....plus the machine tends to "freeze" WITH NO ERRORS OR BSOD....
I am starting to think that this platform was "rushed to market" and not all "bugs" have been worked out as far as drivers, etc...
I guess gone are the days when ThinkPad's were a little behind in technology; but at least that was due to them making sure that the machines were "Rock Solid" inside and out (hardware/software)
