Get Skype video to work on your T61 with Vista!

Since I've been the beneficiary of some great adive on this forum, I thought I'd give something back.
I've been trying to get up to speed on my new T61 with Windows Vista Ultimate, and tackling issues one at a time. One such issue has been how to get Skype video conferencing to work WELL on WIndows Vista on my Thinkpad (Thinkpad T61, Logitech Fusion webcam, most recent drivers).
Turns out, the newest Skype software (version 3.5.*) is broken for vista. (For example, incoming video is a stand-still picture instead of streamed video). An older version, Skype 2.5.0.154 works perfectly on Vista right out of the box!

And don't forget to disable the autoupdate on the software!
