I just bought a near new 2nd hand T60, they did not give me the original CDs, hence I don't have the original drivers.

I installed window XP form the microsoft original XP pro disk, installation process went smoothly.

I downloaded the necessary drivers from Lenovo website, after choosing the most appropriate drivers, I still find some drivers missing.

From XP pro, device manager, the missing drivers from devices are:

Biometric device- this i think refers to fingerprint driver
USB device- don't know how to fix this
PCI device - could this refer to blue tooth driver
SM Bus device-don't know what is this
Unknown - I not sure what it means, I still trying to find out.

Any idea how to fix the above?

Thanks.

Chose your Thinkpad model and you will have all the drivers.

This is one missing (most time) for unknow device :

Is your Windows XP update to SP2 ? SP2 will bring drivers to Bluetooth and USB 2.0. Did you T60 produce sound ? Audio driver need High Definition Audio (kb888111). This is also required for modem installation 5HD device).

Probably missing (SM Bus) :
- Intel chipset : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62939

- Fingerprint (Biometric device) : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... VAN-EAPFPR

Why don't you install the two last drivers I linked before ? Fingerprint software and Intel chipset
