2623-DDU is the last 15" ThinkPad T60p? Any clue?

Is there any 2.33Ghz CPU ThinkPads with 15" UXGA?

the T60/T60p is the last 15" 4:3 aspect ratio thinkpad.

no T60p IPS UXGA models were ever offered with a 2.33GHz T7600. there were, however, T60p CTO models which could be configured with a 15" IPS SXGA+ and T7600.

Yes, I know that. What I asked is the type, ie: 2372-XXX.

I am looking for a 15" T60p with 2.33GHZ CPU and of course UXGA screen.

The 2623-DDU was the last produced T60p with UXGA. The last batch is from April '07 and used rebuilt T43p flexviews from IDtech, i.e. with a T60 style LCD cable. The LCDs are from one of the last batches of IDtech made, after the plant was sold to Sony in 2005.

They have been using IDtechs for a while now though, since BOE-Hydis never were able to keep up to demand consistently...

As Erik said, they were never offered with 2.33 GHz. AFAIK the highest would be the 2007-92U, -93U, -94U with a 2.16 GHz core duo.

fyi, the 2007-9EU has a 2.33GHz T2700 core duo and not a 2.33GHz T7600 core 2 duo. you never specified which processor you were looking for. most people want the core 2 duo.

These models do have CD process, not C2D

2007-9EU, 2007-9ZU, 2007-9GU, 2007-9ZU (2.33GHz)

I think no C2D 2.33GHZ CPU with 15" UXGA ThinkPad T60p (based on my research).

Like you are finding there were no C2D processor based UXGA ThinkPads. This is an easy upgrade though. You can upgrade the CPU. Some have discussed this and others have done it.

Not sure how worthwhile this upgrade may be.

As for the last T60p UXGA IPS machines, Onsale.com has now sold out all of theirs (earlier this week), including an open box that I reluctantly purchased this week. eBay now seems to be the only source.

Ah, so that was you who purchased that! I wondered if it could possibly be a forum member.

You'll have to tell us how it is when you get it and if you're happy with its condition...I'd be curious to know for possible future purchases how PCMall/OnSale's open box deals are.

The machine had been previously started (but no applications installed). It was manufactured in the last batch on 4/4/07. While I could see that everything in the box had been previously unpacked, the machine appears to be new. When I saw it for sale, I assumed they had several, as they had a very large batch of new units at blow-out pricing.

New or used, it's a great machine at a good price. I have a T7600 and 4GB of memory to install, but I'm waiting for a Atheros card to arrive from a recent ebay purchase.

You'll not be able to use more than 3GB no matter what OS you use on a t60p

That's true. I have another T60p w. W2K Enterprise Svr and 64-bit Gentoo, and I only get 3GB. I wanted to max. the memory w. matched pairs to squeeze the most out of the system. Even with running several services and KDE, I have plenty of headroom with the 3GB, so the missing 1GB isn't a worry.

have you tested 3GB vs. 4GB to see if any speed is gained with a matched pair? nothing i've heard or read says the T6x series can support dual channel so i'm still trying to find a definitive answer.

No, I didn't perform any benchmarking, as I immediately upgraded both of my T60p machines as soon as each arrived.

The tabook indicates that the memory is "dual channel capable" so I assume it will operate in 64-bit with matched pairs. If that's not the case, then I've wasted some money on the unused 1GB, and shame on Intel for releasing a very crippled 945PM chipset.
