Buying a new T61p?

Believe me when I say I have been searching for hours on the site trying to resolve this issue before I used it for my first post.
I am anxious to order a T61p direct. It will be my second thinkpad in the house. I have always seen the E coupon field while checking out but never knew about how to get involved in this. Now I see an e coupon link above, and Lenovo has an e coupon good until Oct 1. How do I get the code number for this coupon to use during checkout? Or can I?
Thanks!

Your question is a bit hard to understand. The Lenovo coupon codes can normally be found at the first page on their website on their Flash advertisements that promote their latest specials.
Calling Dell isn't going to help you with Lenovo coupon codes...since it is now Monday and Lenovo is open for business, why not call and ask them?

Did you try clicking on the ecoupons link above and following their instructions?

Yes, it links me to Lenevo to purchase the laptop. Prices are the same, I dont have a coupon during check out, it asks for my e oupon if I have one, which I do not.
I am not sure how obtain a coupon.
Thanks,
Mike

I've never used it, and looking at the site, it looks quite circular in nature. Bill is out of town right now, so we can't ping him. If no one else has any ideas, try asking in the Hot Deals forum at fatwallet.com. I see a few messages there refering to ecoupons.

I have tried the ecoupons and share your observation, nonny. It turned into what seemed to be a long survey, with questions asked during the enrollment process about my lifestyle and what what my hobbies are, etc. On the other hand, if you can save a few hundred bucks and have the few minutes it takes, it is worth a try.
To the original poster or anyone thinking about trying this, the process is very straightforward. I would recommend using an email you can do without since you are liable to receive junk mail as a result. Services such as Postini and VQME.com will keep your email clean, if you use such services. Give it a shot and bail if you don't like the questions or information asked to share. Nothing is for free but you might find this a reasonable trade-off for what you can save!
Best of luck!
John

Google Lenovo Visa Coupon. There is a special with up to 20% off good through late October when you purchase with your Visa Card. I used it during the Labor Day Sale and got a T61p for $450 off what they are selling for today.

Why don't you ask your friend?

There is a coupon code of USPANNIVERSARY (found all over deal web sites) that gives an additional discount of up to 20% on some ThinkPads, good until October 4 2007.

I used the Visa discount with the sale and USXANNIVERSARY Code all together and got a nicely equiped X61T for $1674, $1073 off list. Probably about $400 off "normal" sale price.
X61T, MV/MT XGA, XP Pro, 2GB RAM, 100GB/7200 HDD, Bluetooth, Base, Thinkpad a/b/g, CD/DV Record, 3 year depot warranty---$1674
I beleive all these discounts apply to all models.

t61p 14.1" SXGA+, T7700 (2.4 GHz), 100 GB 7200rpm HDD, 3GB RAM, Bluetooth, Intel a/g/n wireless, Turbo Memory, Fingerprint reader, DVDRW, Vista Ultimate, 4 year depot warranty:
$2,213.84 (no tax included)
I think that saved about $800. I used their anniversary sale in combination with Visa discount.

How did you get out of paying the tax, was it just based on the state or did you do something else??? Also, how do you get the Visa discount?

I believe what he was saying is that the price he quoted didn't include the sales tax not that he will not have to pay it. I could be mistaken.
B of A Visa Discounts:
http://usa.visa.com/personal/ (from Visa site)
http://www.lenovo.com/shop/deals/visa (direct link to Lenovo)
Of course, you must use a Visa card to make your purchase.

I had to pay tax, I just didn't include it in the price. Turns out using the Visa discount wasn't the greatest idea because the eCoupon code USPANNIVERSARY didn't work. I would have ended up paying $70 less if I had ordered through the regular store and used the code.
The T7800 is not going to be available anytime soon according to a rep I called. They briefly had it listed for the 15.4" model at the same price as the T7700, but that was apparently a mistake (according to the rep).
