T60 - USB power during standby.

Is it possible to configure the T60 to leave the USB port(s) powered when the computer is put in standby. Ideally I would like it only to be powered when when it's running on adapter power to prevent the battery from getting discharged.
If I could get this to work I could charge my Ipod and some other devices while in standby.
Thx.

i say it's better to charge your iPod from the AC block but you can just go into the settings and disable S3 USB Power Management (Vista) or use the Power Manager applcation to disallow USB to be powered off when they go to sleep.
If that's not there then i think you can just go to Device manager and go to teh Power tab and uncheck, "Allow windows put this device to sleep to save power" or something like that it says.

there might an option in the BIOS to keep the USB ports powered while in standby. the T61 has this but i'm not sure about the T60.

I'm having another go at this...
I just checked the BIOS, but I do not have any setting to leave the USB powered. I'm running XP SP2.
In the Device Manager I have a host of entries for "USB Universal Host Controller - 27Cx". I can see the different power settings, but how do I change the values?
Thx.

Control Panel > Power Options? Or you can install the Power Manger Utility where you have more options and settings.

The Power Manager doesn't have any settings for powering the USB during standby (at least not my version).

In power manager, you can specify "Turn off hard drives and monitor" after X min when plugged in (to keep your USBs powered when on AC) and "standby" when running on batteries (so that the USB port doesn't drain power from the battery). You don't have as much power saving when plugged in, but this may not be as important.

Just to clarify; I'm trying to keep the USB port powered when the computer is in Standby. I checked Power Manager (latest version I think) and I don't have any settings for powering the USB.
