Is this a good deal?

#1 Post by psukim » Tue Oct 02, 2007 4:30 pm

So lenovo has the 25% off sale, and theres also a 10% coupon online, which brings the price of this configuration down to $1,117.12.

A couple of quick questions....

Is it better to get 2 gb, or just get 1 gb and later upgrade to 2 gb? I heard its difficult to install ram on the new t61's, I could be wrong..

Would it be better for me to wait until thanksgiving; for those of you who have purchased their laptops after the thanksgiving sale, is there a big difference between purchasing then or anytime else?

Is turbo memory worth the extra $37? What exactly does it do besides increase boot up time?

Is this a good deal, and would you guys jump on it? I would like to get the best deal possible, and am wary that a newer, faster chip will come out during thanksgiving time.

Is Intel Turbo Memory worth anything?.

AnandTech's investigation.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
