I have a t60.bought only 2-3 weeks ago. was working fine until today when the inbuilt mouse functions(ultranav)? decided to stop working. the left click function on all buttons ceased to operate, the trackpoint tap, left button below, touchpad double tap feature and the left button below it would not work yet right click feature worked.restarted, did the mouse reverse swap thing and right button only worked, still left buttons nothing. swapped back, updated ultranav driver, even bios and still the same.
disabled the touchpad and now through the track point and the two buttons below im able to use the laptop as normal however the trackpoint itself (red thing) clicks wont register(is that normal with touchpad disabled)?
if i re-enable the touchpad then trackpoint functions stop working as well as the touchpad still not working, able to scroll but not even right click works anymore as well as left click.

right click left click im going insane...... please someone save me from this hell

it sounds like a hardware problem..
which usually means a replacement keyboard..
which is user replaceable..

there is a small possibility this might be a driver issue..

the question is, did you load any apps or make any changes to the OS just before this problem started..?

if so, this might be the culprit..

if this problem happened to me i would replace the working drive with a drive loaded with the factory preload, unaltered..

still fails, hardware..
no longer faisls, software..

have you run any diags..?

after 6 hours switched it on enabled the touch pad and it worked fine...for 2-3 mins then started to not work again.
i took off the bottom left button, soaked hte rubber thing in ouzo ( im greek) and dipped a cotton bud into ouzo and rubbed the metal inside (where the rubber fits onto) and now seems to be working fine. trackpoint click is still not working.
there was no dirt or dust....so i dont know why cleaning it has helped.

bits274, take Bill Morrows good advice and contact Lenovo support for a new keyboard. Especially after using Ouzo as a cleaner. The things that make Ouzo a great drink (grapes, herbs, berries, anise, coriander, cloves, angelica root, licorice, mint, wintergreen, fennel, hazelnut, etc, etc) would probably contaminate the daylights out of anything electronic. Oh, and don't mention the Ouzo to Lenovo support

ouzo is a fine drop i must say, hate to waste it but the buttons have been working fine all day.
just created a new problem, cant seem to reconnect the button properly.it should stay horizontal no matter if u press down on the side but its leaning.i dont think it can completely be removed.
i now have to press the middle of the button which is what i usually do anyway but i want to fix it. need to

fixed it.
theres a metal clip attached to the underside of the button,it must be removed and fitted into place where the grooves are, funny shaped end to the right. then when you click the button back into place press down firmly and the metal clip will reattach onto the button.
this is like 300, what next?
