30" monitor compatibility, T60p and T61p

#1 Post by RonS » Wed Oct 03, 2007 11:09 pm

Today I got a T60p (v5200), a T61p, a Mini-Dock and a 30" monitor all together.

Testing with both XP, Vista and Vista64...

Both the T60p and T61p had no problems driving the 30" monitor in full 2560x1600 resolution, which means that they both support dual-link DVI. I tested in all three operating systems with stock Lenovo drivers.

the nvidia quadro FX 570M supports dual DVI-I output according to nvidia's comparison matrix.   so, it's good to know that the mini dock supports native dual-link DVI output, especially with factory lenovo drivers.   some have said that you need the advanced dock for this, which is obviously incorrect. :)

thanks ron!

I thought I read somewhere that T60p doesn't support dual link DVI output.

When you have the T60p hooked up to the 30 inch monitor, does the external display appear sluggish, or have any problems?

Nope - no problems observed. It seemed perfect. Not any even the occasional flicker I see when using the Advanced Dock with extended desktop.

Dell 3007WFP. But I think I still prefer the 2407 if I had to choose between them.

Why prefer the 2407wfp above the 3007wfp? The 2407 has horrible inputlag, the 3007wfp not.

The 30" only has one input - DVI.

The 24" has DVI, S-Video, component, composite and VGA. It also as PIP. The 24" size is easier for me to work with - 30" requires me to move my head around too much, plus the 30" kicks off a lot more heat.

I use a 24" as a monitor for my XBOX 360 and I've never noticed any input lag. I'm not saying it's not there - it's just never seemed to be an issue with me.
