I am currently running a T60 (model: 2007) with CPU Dual Core T2500 2.0GHZ.
Is it possible for me to run a CPU Core2 Duo T7500 by upgrading the CPU only?

Negative on the T7500, that's a Socket P processor. You need a Socket M processor:
T5500
T5600
T7200
T7400
T7600
Even though it's probably not an issue for your 2007 model, it's still a good idea to make sure you have a Revision 3 motherboard. You can use CPU-Z for this. Also ensure that you have a 2.x BIOS.

Hmm...so..I believe T7600 is faster than T7500?
Does that mean I can just replace the CPU without having to replace motherboard at all?

Correct on both parts. Just be sure your motherboard's Revision 3 and that you have at least BIOS v2.0. It should be noted, though, that the Socket M CPUs have a 667 MHz FSB while the Socket P ones run at 800 MHz.

I checked and confirmed that the MB revision is 03. So, I believe all I need to do is unplug the old CPU and plug-in the new T7600..
Thank You for your fast reply..

Guys how much you paid for the T7600? I find that extremely expensive for a T7600 upgrade. Instead I am thinking of upgrading to T7200.
Slightly slower, but cooler.
Anyone have a extra T7200 for sell ??

How does the new CPU compare?
What are the Vista CPU scores?

CPU Mark is single thread application
Cinebench is multi threaded application
Indice is an average.
