Is there going to be either a 4:3 or widescreen version of the T61p in a 14 inch form factor?

There has been a 14" 4:3 T61P for a long time. It is listed under Thinkpad Mobile Workstation on the Lenovo Web Site.

/i miss IBM's store with the "view all" matrix.

IBM also introduced various "books" containing data about pre-configured models it released time-to-time. Today, Tabook from lenovo contains all the general model information you need to know about thinkpad T61/p and or other latest series.

And T61p was not released in 14.1' W AFAIK.

Yes. SXGA+. I don't know why they didn't include XGA as an option. Some of us can't see very well with SXGA+.
