I have a T60p w.out the Santa Rosa chip.
I have 4GB
I have a desire to see the 4th GB...
My laptop is my life and performance and stability are key.
I am not a gamer.
I have a desire to keep the warranty intact; however, I am not married to the idea ... I will go to Santa Rosa if it makes sense to go to Vista.
If you were in my situation which OS would you march towards?
cheers,

due to chipset limitations the T60p cannot see all 4GB no matter what OS you run . you'll need a T61 or T61p.

Hmmm... I just got my T61 w/4GB, and put 2003 on and love it. Found all drivers with a little help from here, but more importantly, see all 4GB in the OS. Don't have any exp. with T60.
I have both 2003 and vista x64, but after putting 2003 in, and finding that after a fresh install that it uses only 91MB of memory - I was totally hooked, because its freaking fast and efficient.
I only installed AV, Office 2007, and VMWare6. Then in VMWare, I run my 64-bit OSes, and/or whatever junk I don't want the main OS to touch.
good luck.

Thanks for the Memory view on 2003. I run into situations where 3GB is barely enough for the all of the Excel modeling, VMware, Outlook, SSH, and Docs that I have to write. Though I am drooling to drop Santa Rosa in, I am concerned about the 64-bit driver festivities ... (I have a workstation at the house with dual dual-core AMD64 w/ 8GB ...)
Much appreciation!
