Burn Speed Dvd drive

Hello,

I have a T60 2623-KFU thinkpad. I was wondering if anyone has burned a dvd at more than 2X. I've tried different brands of media rated up to 16X, but i'm stuck at burning at 2X

The firmware is up to date.

Anyone know a dvd media brand which i can burn at 8X?

Oh and i'm using Nero 7.8.5.0
