Hey guys i have a t61 w/ vista. 6465CTO
When I tried to backup my system using "Rescue and Recovery" the system immediately says the r2r.exe has stopped working.

i tried to look up r2r.exe on lenovo.com but it only has patches for XP. i also tried reinstaling R&R, but to no avail.

any suggestions? thanks in advance

Edit: i have the latest version of R&R 4.1

Having similar issue. I have a new T60p with Vista Business.
Starting backup creates an error code "r2r.exe stopped working and was closed."

After perusing articles on the IBM site I just closed that error box and the backup proceeded anyhow, taking about an hour for complete image backup. But then problem #2: I clicked on "View all Backups" in the R&R dialog box and was told "No backups found". Ouch.

My version of R&R is 4.00.0113.00 so maybe it needs updating. However, I did run the ThinkVantage system update couple of days ago.

The latest version of Rescue and Recovery for Vista is v4.1.0315.
Rescue and Recovery 4.1 for Windows Vista

See if the following applies to your backup not being found...
Windows Vista Complete PC Backup cannot recognize the first backup DVD during restore - Notebooks

Now this should fix the r2r.exe problem...

I've had the same error message all the time on my T61 running Vista. Usually pops up a few minutes after it is scheduled to run. Doesn't happen all the time but at least a couple of times a week. Unfortunately, I think my solution is to say goodbye to Vista and do a clean install of XP. Maybe not a viable solution for everyone but I've given Vista long enough.

I too get this message occasionally, including when R&R is scheduled to run (4.00.0117.00).
