I saw an ad posted by a student from the Pacific Rim who is selling a T60 with a Core 2 Duo T5270. I don't have the model number, sorry.

He wants $600 for the laptop. It's a grey market piece that he bought somewhere in Asia, and installed all the software for a US model.

The Control Panel says the processor is a T5270 with 1.4ghz of processor speed. However, Intel doesn't list a T5270 on their website, and searching for a T5270 doesn't bring up any hits.

I think I can get the laptop for $400 and trade the G40 I own along with the G41 parts laptop. I only want it, if I can upgrade the processor to at least a T7300 or better. Is there anyway to verify that the machine can accept a T7300 ?

Thanks !

For the U.S. Version:

to upgrade it T60 would need a the rev.03 motherboard and the most current BIOS (right now 2.17)

as far as the processor only socket M Core 2 Duo's would work they r
T7600
T7400
T7200
T5600
T5500

again this for the US T60's

I agree with silver2002.

The specs of the Mobile Processors, compatible with the T60 are listed at the bottom of next link:
