Hi all.
My new t60 is finally arrived.
What a great machine...

So, i'd like to upgrade bios.
I download the image from the Lenovo site, burn it on a cd, and then boot.
In the upgrade menu there was also this entry:
"Update model number"

.. but what it means?

Thanks!

That is an option to create problems for yourself. Basically ignore it.

The option to change the model number is present so that if one changes the hardware on the machine then one can designate a new model number which better reflects the revised hardware, and subsequently the IBM/Lenovo driver/software update programs will "know" what updates are relevant to the modified machine.

If you are running Windows, then for updating the BIOS you may find it more convenient to download and execute the .exe file (under "File Link") than to use the .iso image to create a bootable CD for the BIOS update.

Thanks to all.
If you are running Windows..
...but i'm not running Windows :D

Anyway i think that Bios upgrade via bootable cd is a great thing.
So, you can maintain updated your laptop even if you are not running Win as OS.

yup update bios via bootable cd is more safety than in window, that's how i always do and never failed.
