Bios hard disk password issue

#1 Post by khaverblad » Wed Oct 17, 2007 2:00 pm

When enabling the password feature for the hard disk in bios the system boots until you see the Windows XP boot logo and then halts?!

Problem is that I've noticed this kind of system halts also when the hard password is disabled.

To be mentioned is that I'm running with our own pre-load installation of Win XP SP2 including the drivers and software from Lenovo. Problem is that I can't really figure out why the system sometimes halts; I've tested the memory and no errors there.

Suggestion and ideas on what to look for would be great!

The bios hdd password is not the cause of your problem, it only influences whether or not your TP can start and get to windows.

I would start looking at your windows installation, or the hdd.

Okey, thanks wanted to make sure since I'm getting to the point that the system starts to boot so in that way everything works as it should when it comes to the bios passwords.
