T61 MB's backordered ?

One of our execs just got a T61, vista about 3 weeks ago, it went belly up three days ago. On site service found bad MB and tells him they are back ordered. Is this an issue ? I'm considering ordering 4 to replace some desktops here but after hearing this am having second thoughts.

Which FRU? 41W1489 seems to be okay (that's what our machines are using).

No idea, just asked adam and he says they are telling him Nov 21st for the new MB. I'm holding off on them till I find out more.

This happened to me as well. I had to send mine back the first time it broke for a motherboard replacement. It was a depot return and it took nearly 4 weeks to get it back.

Wow that sucks, which MOBO are we talking about ? (which configuration of t61, which video adapter etc.)
I had to send my T61P in for depot repair and I am pretty sure the fix will be a new motherboard, I hope I don't end up waiting 4 weeks due to a backorder of motherboards...

Since the T61 is so new (less than 1 month) maybe a new replacement is in order which can be had before November 21st.
Especially since you may be ordering quite a few more. Maybe someone in sales will have some common sense.
