Cracked my screen!!! (WARNING === IMAGE!)

So I dropped a heavy box onto my laptop during a move and I cracked my screen from edge to edge.
T60p - 15" screen.
I am just wondering, how much would a new screen from Lenovo cost to fix up my unit?
Picture of said crack:

Ah.. already contacted 1-888-IBM-SERVE and got a work order done through Lenovo.
They couldn't say the amount but said it would be over $1500 to replace. I was shocked!
They are getting back to me but I thought I might see if there was somewhere else I could buy a replacement screen and install it myself.

EasyServ is the name for IBM repair services and IBM is still a solution provider (including warranty and support servies) for lenovo PC's.

And then they subcontract that through Solectron.

if you bought it through amex; and it is still within 90 days; you are covered for accidental damage, in which they will pay up to $1000 us

Is that an IPS screen? Those screens must be getting scarce nowadays.

Internal or external crack? If it is an external crack, please don't touch the LCD or else you will get poisoned.
Try ebay or

the 2007-93U came with a 15" UXGA IPS panel. FRU number is 13N7076. retail price for this panel through IBM parts (US) is $1051.63. however, you can find the panel cheaper through ebay or possibly brad above.

You cracked a 15" UXGA IPS panel?
That's like killing endangered animals. You're lucky you're not going to jail.

I know I know.. I usually treat my T60p like gold.. but I was moving and by mistake a 80lb storage box fell on my laptop bag with my T60p inside of it..
I was hoping for the best but the screen cracked. So much for the old roll cage thing. its a scam I think.. anyways...

No LCD rollcage on the t60/p. It was introduced only on the T61. But even ten, I doubt whther it would have with stood a 80lb falling weight (more momentum).

That sounds like a challenge, we need to test this
I would volunteer my T61P (I have accident coverage) but alas, it is at the repair depot.
What are they doing to it at said repair depot, you ask? I have no idea, but I assure you they
aren't repairing it! They have replaced the motherboard 3 times so far and they still can't get it to work

You're not alone

Ok, so today I crushed my screen. T60p, 15 in Flexview (IPS) screen, 1400 x 1050 SXGA+. 2613-CTO. I'm having the darndest time figuring out the replacement part number for the screen. My serial number doesn't correspond to any that I can find on the lenovo site (L3-Axxx).
Any help is mightily appreciated.

It turns out we bought the Thinkpad Protection Service as part of the warranty upgrade, which means Lenovo will be fixing my mistake for me! Hopefully, they have the correct screen someplace.
Thanks.

Hi
Our kindly moderator asked if I could look it up. I tried. Got the following:
Mfg Part FRU Part Descriptoin / Serviceable
41W6707 0000000 SHELL TOP 15.0 SXGA+ IPS TFT, BLUETOOTH NO
Basically, it shows as a single unit, and doesn't break out the LCD Panel itself.
