T60 2623-D7U video memory??

#1 Post by scosgt1 » Sat Oct 20, 2007 10:50 am

I just got a 2623-D7U. All the IBM specs say it has a 128MB vide card.
But PC Doctor, ATI Control Center and Display settings ALL report it as a 256MB video card.
Anyone?
Which is right?

The ATI Radeon X1400 in that machine is a 128MB VRAM card. With that said, usually, if a card is advertised as, for example, “256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 HyperMemory”, the video memory is double what it actually has. So the X1400 in this example would actually have 128MB dedicated, and the other 128MB shared from the main system memory. So, I say that both the IBM specs and ATI control center are both correct. That's my story and I'm sticking to it :).

Yes, I think that is correct, although the specs on IBM don't say anything about hyper memory. Strange
