NVIDIAQUAD FX 570M control panel.. too rudimentary???

#1 Post by rayZR » Mon Oct 22, 2007 1:08 am

hey guys (erik et all)..... how's it all going?...

well.. ordered my machine... more than two weeks to it now... how long are these guys going to make me wait? he he

anyways.. I was fiddling around on a friends T61 and I noticed that the display settings for the FX 570M are extremely rudimentary unlike the settings for the FX3500 on my desktop where I can select presets for separate programs for eg MAYA.

But.. on the 570 M there is no such thing and instead an extremely basic pop up that lets you select between three settings of anti-aliasing?.. Now im curious if this was a one-off on my friends machine or do all you people with T61's out there have this same problem.. Can you download newer drivers and a better control panel from Nvidia????

cheers.. and hope you all had a good weekend.. unlike me.. cursing the lenovo website.. which is the worst aftersales website.. keeps showing me "in progress for the past two weeks. :!:

make sure the nvidia control panel is set to Advanced Settings, then go to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.   in that pane there's a Program Settings tab where you can change/override individual application settings.

The new nvidia control panel IS too rudimentary, just look at the Nvidia forums. There has been major public outcry against the weak-[censored] new interface.

fwiw, i'm using the latest WHQL driver from windows update.   the cpanel with this driver has finite 3D controls for 3dsmax, maya, autocad, inventor, and solidworks so i'm happy. :)
