I thought that you could get the IBM logo on the T61 if ordered from lenovo website, but called Lenovo, and had salesperson confirm that It will say Thinkpad, NOT IBM,

How can I get it with IBM??? Please help!!

i got my from ebay !!!

I have been selling Lenovos for a long time. Some T Notebooks come with IBM Thinkpad logo on it, some come with THINKPAD T SERIES logo only on it.

I ordered my T61 and asked my Lenovo distributor if i would have the IBM logo on it. He said NO, but it came with the logo.

To my opinion, IBM THINKPAD LOGOs are being replaced/renamed with THINKPAD T SERIES LOGO in time.

Got my T61 6460-66U for $1348 shipped from Costcentral.com. It came with IBM Logo. I was surprised.

Yours will come still with IBM logo until the beigining of 2008 if you're in the US. Nevertheless, presently if you buy it from someone's account who is in anyway connected to lenovo or IBM, you'll probably see Thinkpad sticker.

Depending on how you as a customer buy your system will determine which logo you will find on your ThinkPad.

fwiw, every IBM employee i know who recently ordered thinkpads got IBM logos.   my T61p came with IBM logos as well.   i can't speak for lenovo employees as i don't know any.

I'm in the USA, I ordered online and I got the new Thinkpad T Series sticker, NOT the IBM one.

I found a guy on Ebay who sells the IBM stickers and ordered a few. I'll switch the sticker myself. I think the IBM sticker is cooler.

That's because you ordered it as a student.

Strange, every thinkpad with all ibm.com-ers, I've recently seen came with Thinkpad sticker, the machines were part of large scale order, although YMMV on that.

How do I make sure when I am ordering online from Lenovo's Website that I am not ordering as a student and thus get the IBM Logo? Also, since I will be able to get the IBM logo until beginning of 2008, will there be any advances or better options/hardware availabe between now and Jan 2008, or should I go ahead and order one now?

I got a much better price by ordering as a student... I wouldn't have wanted to pay regular price just for the IBM logo lol...

Is the logo that important to you? If you happen to get the logo you didn't want, IBM logo stickers only cost like 5 bucks on Ebay...

none of these were bulk orders and none of the employees work in the website division.   maybe that's why

I think the new Thinkpad logo is way cooler than the IBM one. I ordered mine from the web and got the IBM logo.
