Just out of curosity, saw an ad at ebay that the seller says the memory chips are the 800Mhz version which match the 800Mhz front side buses of the newer Santa Rosa thinkpads.

So far, I know that most people are using 667Mhz memory chips.

Anyone has used 800Mhz or know if it really utilises the bandwidth of the front side bus for increase speed?

Or is it just a waste of money?

Thank you

the memory bus speed is 667 MHz.   DDR2-800 modules are supported but will revert back to 667 MHz.

so, it's a waste of money. :)

Thanks....that is why I was like "what the.." when one of the Ebay ads shows the fastest harddisk (3GB/s) and the fastest memory modules (800Mhz)....
