Does anyone else feel that the T61 palm rest is too warm? My hands get warm enough to start feeling oily/sweaty. It sucks.
Can anyone think of a solution to this, short of getting new hands?

A BIOS update.
Warm is acceptable, hot is not.

If your running Vista disabling the indexing process could significantly reduce disk activity resulting in a cooler drive.

I updated to the newest BIOS.
Overall, I think the palm rest is, at best, warm. I guess my body just sweats easily. However, why would they put something that generates heat underneath the palm rest? Bad design in my opinion.
For instance, why would you put a hard drive underneath the palm rest? Why not move the ultrabay down under the palm rest and the hard drive to the top right corner?
Just thinking out loud here.

mine is totally cold even if i work for hours.
there should be something wrong with your machine or a program installed might be working in the backround without your knowledge. Maybe a trojan. Make sure your computer is safe.
