help deciding what to get?

I currently have a T41 that is dying... and i need to replace it... But I'm not sure what to get as a replacement.

Work has issued me a T60 (1951-A31), 1.6Ghz Core Solo with 11a/b/g wifi, bluetooth, 60gig hard drive, 1gig ram, 1400x1050 display, DVD-RW drive, etc.. and it works well...

I do have a spare 2504 (42w8298) port rep or dock (or what ever you call this one) for my T60, will it work on a T61?

Other than loosing S-Video output to my TV... this work issued T60 is nice... I do like its size/weight... and it performs well for what I use my laptop for... and the battery lasts LONG!!

As I look at Lenovo's web site.. I'm having difficulties figuring what might be a good alternative... I'm guessing the base T61 with 14.1 WXGA+, upgrading to a DVD-RW drive and maybe 2gig memory?

Any suggestions?

I purchased a T60 C2Duo (in my signature) recently and am very pleased with mine. Came from my good friends A30 an A31, both sold and are in nice homes.

I would say if you can get your T60 for "free" from work and you don't need more processing power, go with it!

Regarding the "dock": it should work with your unit.

The T41 was personal.. and I'm trying to replace my Personal laptop...

the T60 is and will remain property of my employer...

So I'd have to purchase something...
