Hello
My flexview screen has developed a little blemish by itself. It is not a pressure mark, it looks like it is behind the pixels or something.
This has been bugging me a little, and i mainly want to know what it is and what is it caused by.
Has anyone seen this before?
What can be done?
I have done nothing to the screen, and always "babied" it. When it was completely new, there was no such blemish, now it's there after 5 months.
A picture: (Warning: ~3 MB) http://peecee.dk/?id=75098, fullsize: http://peecee.dk/index.php?id=75098&noresize=yes (macro shot with +17 magnification)
It's near the middle.
The stuff on the right side is just dust on the outside of the lcd which is easily removed.
LCD issue appearing out of the blue
Hi Erik,
I was fearing that it was some sort of leakage, which was about to spread, so i'm glad if it's just dust. But how it got there is beyond me. It does not seem to move, regardless of the fact it is lugged around daily.
It's an ID Tech.
Actually the old ID tech UXGA i bought as used for my T42 had some very similar spots in the same area, but there were more of them, but i thought it was something the previous owner did to it.
Seems as if these aren't air tight

Hmm, that's not good to hear. The BOE-Hydis could be better or worse, since the construction can't most likely be 100% identical.
Just for the hardcore freaks i found this:

You seriously need to have som guts for doing this. I think it helps the successfullness if the screen already is bad.... So maybe i will try this out on my other UXGA flexview with pressure marks and a red halo in the right part of the screen... it also has some dust particles inside the LCD assy. The operation will be done in a clean room with next to no dust, if any... it's normally intended for inspection of multilayer PCBs
This dust must be between the LCD and the transparent film behind the LCD.

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
