Sticks out. For T61 14.1''WS only 4-cell stays flush.integra144 wrote:I have a quick question is the T61 14 WS battery flush with the notebook or does it stick out?....snip

Agree - that's what I did. You need the flush 4 where size/weight is critical and if you need more battery, the 7 seems much smarter than the 6.rxblitzrx wrote:Yup. That's why you get the 4 cell and buy a 7 cell if you really need it.
Also have an ultraslim bay battery for those long international flights
I actually find the large batteries which extend from the back a bit deceptive in advertising the dimensions of these machines. The problem, of course, is the fact the flush battery doesn't give very good working times. Other manufactureres use bigger batteries that stay flush or fit differently into the case. But, as for size, my very first laptop was a Toshiba Portege 2400 that was smaller than a Thinkpad and had a battery that was a bit bigger than the 7 cell. Different 1994 technology than the current batteries, but still, you'd think they could make 6 cell flush battery.
T61 14.1w, X31 for the wife's couch potato web surfing , T23 (gave it to my mother-in-law!), 600E (retired) - Because they just work!
