Wireless N speeds not reached when using WPA

For some reason, when I use WPA-PSK on my wireless setup, I can not get the draft N speeds. If I use no security I connect at 300 mbps. I was wondering if this is a problem with my card or my router. Here is my setup:

- thinkpad T60 (2007-EC1)
- BIOS 1.21 / 1.06 (7LET51WW)
- intel core 2 duo T7200 @ 2.0GHz (upgraded myself)
- ati x1400
- 1x crucial 2GB DDR2-667 SODIMM + 1 x 1GB DDR2-667 SODIMM
- Atheros 11 a/b/g/n wireless (upgraded myself)

- D-Link DIR-625 Rangbooster N router
currently the only security I'm using is the mac filter.

I think I read somewhere that you need to use AES and not TKIP. You might give that a try.

Dbruyere,

If I'm recalling correctly from other threads/posts:
WPA2 + AES is required OR "no security at all" to achieve "N" transfer performance.

Please keep us posted about your findings.

Thank you very much. I had been trying WPA only. It works great now. Thanks!
