So, as some of you may have known from my other topic, the amount of pressure marks (otherwise known as "bright spots") on my LCD has come to the point of unbearable. I have decided to buy an OEM LCD to replace my current one. From what I research, the Hydis brand LCD seems to be the best one. However, as I have no prior experience with removing LCD screen, I would really appreciate it if somebody can post a tutorial on how to safely remove and replace the original T60 14" LCD display. Lenovo does have the instruction up on their website but I'm afraid I may need something more detailed than that. Thanks in advance.

That's the hardware installation and removal guide that i'm talking about. It has 4 steps to remove the LCD and some of the black and white pictures are not clear at all. I guess I should mention that I need something that go into much more details.
rxblitzrx: the LCD is available through thinkpad parts supplier, just look up the FRU number on the Lenovo website and google that number. As for which brand is the best, I just search through users' experiences so it may not be that accurate.

I just edited the link for the Hardware Maintenance Manuals in the FAQ. The previous link was no longer valid.

To the OP, you will not likely get much more info than what is in the HMM and Installation/Removal Movies. Here is one link that provides very limited additional information. It is describing how to replace a backlight, which you will not need to do. http://www.lcdparts.net/howto/ccflinstallation.aspx

From personal experience on one T42 I worked on, I do have one comment to make. Take care to protect the surface of the LCD. It is easily scratched.

Okay, so I decide to replace the LCD panel this weekend when I have time. I'll keep in mind the advices that you guys give me. I'll list them out, if anybody has anything else to advise me on, please do :D : Work in a clean room, handle the LCD panel carefully, try not to scratch the LCD. That's all I can think of. If anybody also replaces their LCD panel before, please share some of your insight with me, like how long did it take, was it difficult, etc...Thanks in advance

Bump
Come on guys, at least a few on this forum have changed their LCD panel before, right? Please share your experience. I would send it in for repair again if I could, but unfortunately, my machine is out of warranty period and I can't bear throwing out a perfect working T60, but I don't want to mess up on the LCD either (it's at least $200) so I will need all the advices I can get from someone who is more experienced than me
