I have a T60p a/b/g/n wifi card.

I can connect to almost any open network that I can see but I'm having problems connecting to a hotel that I'm staying in for the next couple of weeks.

Vista tells me its has connected but I guess the hotel access point is not handshaking with me completley because I do not get an IP address or gatway ...

Other people are successfully connecting to the hotels wifi without any problems.

Any ideas please ?

Is the hotel using DHCP? Are you using DHCP?

The problem I sense here is that you need to configure your wireless settings according to hotel's network specification. Windows Vista has a better "Network Diagnostics Tool" integrated in IE that can detect and provide you a hint regarding the root cause of the problem.

Moreover, please look into some very handy instructions from GomJabbar in this thread.

You can also look at the wireless troubleshooting guide from lenovo.
