im trying to copy a movie,and yes i own the original
im using anydvd but anydvd says failed to read dvd, region locked rpc2 drive, my drive is a matshita dvd-ram uj-852 on the t61p. i have looked for a fix for this and have been told the only way is to exchange the matshita dvd drive. has anybody solved this problem.

There is no fix for most M a t s u s h i t a laptop dvd writer drives.

There are programs that should allow you to bypass the region lock.

thanks guys thats what i thought, i believe there is an hitachi 9.5m dvd on ebay $100, i might go for that. its hard to get good info on what is a good one.
