I need to send away my T60p to have a rattling fan replaced. How long does it typically take to get back from service?

Usually 2 or 3 days. It overnights to Atlanta, they fix it that day or the next and it overnights back to you. It depends on whether the parts are in stock or not.

absolutely correct...it went out monday afternoon, i had it back wednesday morning.

refreshingly good customer service, coming from a guy who used to have an hp.
