There are 4 brands: BOE-Hydis, Toshiba, TMD, and Samsung
Does anybody know, from experience, which one looks the best, and which one is the most durable? Thanks in advance.

In my T60 I've a 15" inch LG Flexview screen and I'm very happy with it. I've never seen any of the other brands of screens.

IPS panels are no longer available. I guess it is a 14" SXGA+ one ? All of them are subaverge (no contrast, excessive backling bleeding etc.)

I believe TMD stands for Toshiba M a t s u s h i t a Display so there are actually 3 SXGA+ suppliers.
My T43 originally came with a Samsung panel, which was TOO bright (yes, bright enough to give me headaches) So I got it replaced with a BOE-Hydis panel and I'm very happy with it. There's no backlight leakage and the screen is very comfortable to look at. It does appear dimmer and somehow bluer compared to a Flexview panel. (I never cared about viewing angles)
Flexview panels produce most realistic pictures, you should definitely consider it if you do graphic works on your TP. However it has been discontinued and never been available on 14" models.
Hope it helps. Get a Samsung if you like brightness

K, I will. Thanks. I don't really have any use for Flexview also so I'm fine with a 14" SXGA+ screen
