This external ATI USB 2.0 TV tuner installs and works fine on my T42 with an ATI Radeon video card (WinXP SP2).

However, the software CD fails during the WDM driver installation and also during the ATI MultiMedia Center (MMC) installation on my T61 with a Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M (also WinXP SP2). I also tried the latest drivers and software off the AMD/ATI site with no success.

Error message in each case is:

Error # 0X8002000B
Invalid Index

A couple of hours in Google searches leaves me to believe that the ATI software is incompatible with my Nvidia video card. This external tuner is no longer produced and has been replaced by a newer ATI HDTV external tuner .... anyone have any luck with either the older tuner or the newer one on their T61?

Any external tuner recommendations for the T61 with the Nvidia Quadro NVS140 that work good together with WinXP SP2 would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this will help, but sometimes a little clue can lead us to a solution. I had trouble a while back installing a Linksys CIT200 cordless phone for Skype on a computer that had the external ATI USB 2.0 tuner. I had to switch the ATI driver to a generic one to get the Linksys phone to work. If you already have something like the Linksys phone installed you might try uninstalling it.

Thanks. Unfortunately there are no other devices installed on my T61. It is set up like my T42 except for the different video cards .... What was the video card on that computer you were using with the ATI Wonder USB 2.0 Tuner?

Just so you know, I have the same ATI TV tuner and I have the same problem (T61p with 570M).... ATI vs Nvidia....

Thanks for the feedback ... that's kind of what I thought.

I opened a Service Ticket at AMD/ATI support just for fun to see if ATI has the guts to admit it themselves
