Hi People I have a T61 and after removing the Palmrest to add extra memory I can move the whole palmrest a little bit up and down on the front..
I can't seem to tighten the screws to resolve the problem
Are there any other T61 owners who have a little bit of movement in the palmrest
Thanks alot!

Is it possible that the palm rest isn't correctly seated? When re-mounting it there are "tooth and groove" locators in order to hold firm.

they don't say anything about tooth and groove locators on the lenovo site..

I just unscrewed it again and pressed it firm whilest screwing the screws back but it doesn't change a thing...
It's not moving alot just 1 or 2 milimeters max but I don't remember if it was doing this before.. I just got it yesterday..

Believe me there are, the description shows that the palm rest should be laid onto the TP and then pushed towards the back. If you remove it again and have a good look you will see what I mean.

All plastic have a basic property of flexibility and elasticity to a certain extent. Impurity in the material and usage of some below par material are to blame for the ones that do it more easily, a sign of little cheapness in other terms on part of the company using such quality.
As to why? Lenovo has 6 different manufacturing centers in Asia, 1 in India, 1 in Mexico and 1 in the US, most do a good job, at times some don't.
You can get a replacement if you're unhappy however before doing so try reseating the keyboard and palmrest from the scratch.
