T61p 3D game/application issues/lockups - README

recent T61p systems have been reported to lockup or have other issues with various memory configurations while using 3D games and applications.   this seems to be a problem when two memory modules have been installed in any combination; 1+1, 1+2, 2+1, and 2+2.   please be advised that representatives from lenovo are aware of this issue and have been working with various forum members to help find a solution.

to help minimize the scattering of forum members' input, we have created this sticky to help organize some of the larger threads on this topic.   we ask that you please reference the threads below and feel free to post your experience and findings accordingly rather than starting new threads on the same topic.
