Anyone know who made these parts?

#1 Post by pae77 » Mon Nov 19, 2007 6:45 am

These are parts that my new T61p has shipped with but I'm not sure what I'm getting. I'd appreciate any more info if anyone knows:

42T0368 14.1 INCH LCD DISPLAY:FLAT PANEL DISPLAY

42T1056 100GB HARD DRIVE:HARD DISK DRIVES (HDD)

42T3241 42T3273 KEYBOARD FRU

I believe the keyboard is Chicony. Always had NMB before so I don't know how that will be.

I'm hoping the HD is a 7k200. And not sure what to hope for the display.

42T0368 samsung

42T1056 (not sure)

42T3241 chicony

the HDD number either isn't in the system or it's the part number rather than the FRU number.

Thanks. The number for the HDD is the manuf part number, there is just 0000 for the FRU number. I couldn't find anything on it.

re hdd, have you taken it out to have a look at who manufactured it, possibly the quickest method. If you are not sure how to remove it, you will find instructions here
T61p 6460-67G; 15,4 WSXGA+ W7P x64, no hairdryer.
T43p 2668-G2G, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, internal hairdryer

Haven't actually received the T61p yet. It's supposed to be delivered later today! :D But I will pull the HD to see what it is if I can't tell from device manager or whatever the Vista equivalent is.

Going to be a steep learning curve for me for a while as I haven't used Vista yet.

Then here's wishing "Happy ThinkPadding" when you get it. A nice choice.
